INVESTING IN public education
Kids should have good schools. They shouldn’t lack food. They should develop social and emotional skills that help them achieve academically. They shouldn’t become nicotine addicts. The should have access to healthcare.
In high school, kids should be able to study civics and art in addition to math and science. And they should have a path to success through continued education – at universities and community colleges, and vocational skills training that aligns with job opportunities.
The Texas Legislature has made significant progress on all these fronts. I am working to further the progress, with an array of bills designed to build the environment in which kids are likely to succeed.
